This new exhibition is an opportunity to (re) discover the museum's collections and reveals some thirty works never exhibited before, including ten pieces from private collections.
The exhibition presents the history of the Grenouillère and its festive activities that attracted Parisians seeking for outdoors pleasures, impressionist artists interested by the effects of light and color, and writers attracted by its popular atmosphere. You will also discover a comparative study of recently acquired photographs dating from 1870 with Monet and Renoir paintings of the same place dated 1869. You’ll be able to relive the good old days of la Belle Epoque!
